SPSS/PC+
- If
you use SPSS/PC+ version 4 or 4.0.1 and use the TRANSLATE FROM command to
import a spreadsheet or database file and then try to use the SAVE OUTFILE
command to save the data to a SPSS/PC+ system file, you may get the error
message:
Error # 716
"I/O ERROR WHILE ATTEMPTING TO SAVE A FILE--Perhaps the disk is
full or damaged. The integrity of the file is not guaranteed.
This command not executed."

- How
do I use SPSS with an ADM5 terminal type?

Error # 9309
The host system has detected an error related to an input or output operation.
This is an error from which SPSS cannot recover.
The SPSS run will terminate now.
- When
I type "spssold" and press enter, I get the following message:
Warning: SPSS version 5 X interface is unstable and may abort.
Use +m or -m to select manager mode or prompting mode for SPSS 5.
And then I get the SPSS News start up screen, but I get dumped back to the
system prompt ($). How can I get spssold to start up?
- I'm
using an X Windows interface to my unix account and I want to use the Interactive
X Windows Display Manager of SPSS. I typed "spss" at the prompt and got the
fo llowing message-why can't I get into the manager mode of SPSS anymore ?
/rs6000/spss6/bin/spss:
X Window operation is not possible because DISPLAY is not
defined.
Use the +m flag to run the character-based Manager.
Use the -m flag for prompted or batch execution.
- I've
heard that in the new version of SPSS (version 6.1) there is an X windows
Display Manager mode. What are differences/advantages of the X window mode
?
