Configuring LDAP service in Mac OS X Mail

[Nov 23, 2009 14:09] Web access to Microsoft Live@edu accounts now works.

  1. Open Mac OS X Mail.
  2. From the Mail menu, select Preferences.
  3. In the Preferences window, click Composing. Check Automatically Complete Address if it is not checked, then the click Configure LDAP
  4. In the Name field, type UVA. In the Server field, enter ldap.virginia.edu.
  5. In the Search Base field, type: o=University of Virginia,c=US. (Do not include a space between the comma and c=US.)
  6. Click Save.
  7. In the LDAP preferences window make sure there is a check mark beside UVA.
  8. You may now search by first name, last name, or UVa computing ID in the TO field of a new message in Mac OS X Mail.
  9. Click Done.
