Configure Guest Device to Access the UVa Wireless Network

Guests to the University may access the UVa wireless network via a Sponsoring UVa organization or individual. The Sponsor must register the Guest's wireless device or issue the Guest an access PIN. The Sponsor also assumes full responsibility for the actions of any Guest for whom they register a card or issue a PIN.

Guest access to the UVa wireless network is restricted to the unencrypted wahoo network. Guests are advised to review the wahoo security statement before setting up wireless access.

Requirements

  • UVa Sponsoror ITC Network registration PIN.
  • Wi-Fi certified wireless card (how to tell).

Getting Started for Guests

  1. Register the Guest device from another device with existing network access.
    1. If you have been issued a PIN for network registration, register your device on our network via the Guest network registration site.
    2. If you are being Sponsored by a member of the University community, your Sponsor must add your device to their list of wireless devices via the network registration site.
