Which Version Should You Download?

This information is detailed on the VPN download page, but you must login and authenticate yourself to access this information and the installer file.

  • For Windows Vista—version 5.0.01.0600 (Still in test mode on Vista)
  • For Windows XP—version 5.0.01.0600
  • For Macintosh 10.5 and 10.4—version 4.9.01
  • For Macintosh 10.3—version 4.6.04

Known Issues by Operating System

  • Windows Vista: The Cisco VPN Client for Vista (version 5) is still in test mode. Please report any problems to the ITC Help Desk.
  • Windows XP: You will need to download and run the Windows XP SP2 Firewall Script. You could turn off the Windows Firewall, but this is not recommended.
  • Macintosh 10.5: No known problems.
  • Macintosh 10.4: No known problems.
  • Macintosh 10.3: When you import the certificate, a popup window will ask for a password. If you do not use a password, however, the popup still appears when you subsequently login. Click OK every time, for in this case you effectively have a blank password.
