Identity Management (IM) is an integrated system of business processes, policies and technologies that enable organizations to facilitate and control their users' access to critical online applications and resources — while protecting confidential personal and business information from unauthorized users. - LDAP
- The Lightweight Directory Access Protocol is described for programmers. Client information for email and the Macintosh are available from ITC Desktop Services.
- whois
- The whois service is described for programmers. While LDAP use is now preferred for programs being currently written, many applications at UVa already use the older whois database.
- Phonebook Update
- The U.Va. Phonebook exists both as a printed book and as a searchable database — the U.Va. Home Page People Search. Tools are provided online for individuals to keep their entries updated.
