The Select Contract
Like the Campus Agreement, the Select Contract at UVa allows departments to obtain software licenses for all Microsoft software (including both Windows and Mac) very inexpensively. Using purchase orders, you can install Microsoft software on any machine owned by UVa.
The contract also lets departments ensure all software installed on departmental computers is fully and legally licensed.
Tech Support
As part of the cost-containment of this contract, no technical support is provided by Microsoft for software licenses purchased through the UVa Select Contract. Support for installation problems may be provided through the ITC Help Desk, as well as basic support for Windows and Office.
Requirements
- You must be registered faculty or staff at the University of Virginia.
- Software must be installed on UVa-owned computers.
- You must generate an LPO or PO (use a non-catalog order form in the UVa Marketplace) to make a purchase.
- You must notify the UVa licensing administrator at ITC of your purchase for record-keeping purposes..
Office for Windows and Mac may also be installed on home computers or a second laptop under our Select Contract. See Home Use for more information.
