UVa's Microsoft Contracts

The Microsoft Campus Agreement

Who's Covered

The Microsoft Campus Agreement at UVa licenses several of the most commonly-used Microsoft products for full- and part-time faculty and staff employed in Agency 207 (mostly state-funded academic and administrative units). Students, except those in Continuing Education, are also covered under the Campus Agreement.

Like the Select Contract, the Microsoft Campus Agreement lets departments ensure all software installed on departmental computers is fully and legally licensed.

Covered Software Products

Microsoft products covered under the agreement include:

  • Windows Vista Enterprise operating system (may also be installed as a Virtual Machine on a Mac)
  • Microsoft Office Professional Plus and Microsoft Office for the Mac
  • Windows Server 2003 Client Access License (CAL)
  • Exchange Client Access License (CAL)
  • SharePoint Client Access License (CAL)
  • Systems Management Server Client Access License (CAL)
  • Desktop Optimization Pack

Office for Windows and Mac may also be installed on home computers or a second laptop under our Campus Agreement. See Home Use for more information. Office will come bundled at no charge on student DCI computers purchased summer 2008 and may be purchased for non-DCI student machines after Aug. 23, 2008. See Student Use for more information.
