[Jun 28, 2008 8:06] Email phishing scam targeting WebMail users has been reported. More Information
If you have old Oracle Calendar (CorporateTime) data which you would like to keep for historical reference after January 15, 2008, ensure you have made a copy of it before that date. You can save past Oracle Calendar entries by:
- Importing them into an Exchange calendar;
- Viewing them in Oracle Calendar in offline mode;
- Exporting them into a spreadsheet; or printing them out.
After January 15, 2008, if you have not made all the copies you need of your old calendar data, you must contact networks@virgina.edu to see if your data can be recovered.
Import Your Oracle Calendar Data into Exchange
ITC does not recommend importing future meetings from Oracle into Exchange, since key elements such as room reservations and other invitees will be lost. Future meetings should be manually re-created.
But past meetings can be imported into Exchange for historical reference, though only meeting name, date/time, and location will be imported—other attendees and notes about the meeting will be lost. If you need more complete information, save your calendar data and open as a spreadsheet.
Create an Offline Copy of Your Agenda
You can also create an offline version of your agenda, so that once the online Oracle Calendar (CorporateTime) no longer works online (after Jan. 15, 2008), you can still view your old calendar data in offline mode on your computer.
ITC recommends you also export a file from Oracle Calendar into Exchange that contains the online version of your calendar. Otherwise, if the Oracle Calendar software is removed from your computer, the offline agenda you've created may no longer be accessible.
View Old Calendar Entries in a Spreadsheet or Printout
If you would like to retain the complete information about your past calendar entries, including other invitees and notes, save the export file (a .csv file) created when you import your calendar into Exchange. Though some information is lost when viewed in the Outlook or Entourage calendar, all data from Oracle Calendar will be viewable in spreadsheet format.
You can also print out old Oracle Calendar entries if you think you may need to refer to them in the future.
