If you are off-Grounds, you must have a connection via UVa Anywhere in order to configure Outlook 2007 (XP or Vista), Outlook 2003, or Entourage 2004.
UVa Anywhere is one of several profiles of the Cisco Virtual Private Network (VPN); the Cisco VPN provides secure, authenticated access from off-Grounds to on-Grounds' restricted resources; e.g., Library resources, UVa Home Directory Service, restricted departmental servers, and the Central Exchange Server.

Troubleshooting
If you have problems connecting, verify you configured the Cisco VPN as described above. Verify also that you can access the Internet by going to any external website you rarely use.
If you cannot access the Internet and if you are off-Grounds, contact your local Internet Service Provider (ISP). If you can access the Internet, but still cannot make the VPN connection, try these three procedures, in this order:
One: Change the Transport Protocol
- Open the Cisco VPN.
- Click on UVa Anywhere.
- Click Modify.
- Click Transport.

- Change the setting from IPsec over TCP to IPsec over UDP.
- Click on Save.
- Connect again.
Two: Change Connection from Wireless to Wired
If you use a wireless router, disconnect it. Reconnect your computer by wire directly to your cable of DSL modem. Try again to connect.
Three: Verify Certificate
Ensure you selected a valid Personal Digital Certificate, which is indicated by the expiration date. You can check in the Certificates tab for the date and in the Modify tab > Certificate Authentication that you have the right one. Try again to connect.
If you are still not able to connect, contact the ITC Help Desk while in front of your computer.
