ITC Student Employment

Student Consultants (SCs)

Students are an integral part of ITC's User Support Services group. These ITC employees are called Student Consultants (SCs) and bring varying levels of technical expertise to the job. The skill set of an SC includes:

  • exemplary customer service,
  • demonstrated technical troubleshooting, and
  • strong written and verbal skills.

SCs work 5-20 hours per week, offering technology assistance to the UVa community in the residence halls and around Grounds in the libraries, labs, and at the Help Desk Call Center. SCs are paid for their work and are offered ongoing technical training.

Research Computing Consultants

Research Consultants are exposed to a wide variety of scientific computing and research projects from many departments in the University, as they offer tech support and assistance to fellow researchers in stastical analysis and other researcher-oriented computing programs.
