University faculty, staff, students, and alumni can request an ITC-supported email account below.

After creating your account in Step 1, wait for the confirmation email, then continue to Step #2 to use the UVa Email Address Management System to create and manage your email aliases, change where you read your University email, etc.

(Step 1 of 2) Request a UVa Email Account

Students & Alumni:

Gmail with Google Apps
In addition to email and calendar, Gmail with Google Apps includes tools for online communication, collaboration, and publishing.
Request Gmail Account
Microsoft Live@edu
In addition to email and calendar, Microsoft Live@edu is Microsoft's newest platform for communication and collaboration services.
Request Live@edu Account

Gmail and Microsoft Live@edu accounts are primarily offered to students and alumni. However, accounts are also available to faculty and staff who provide technical support to students.

Faculty & Staff:

UVa Exchange Service
The UVa Exchange Service, accessible through Outlook Web Access or an email program, integrates UVa's centralized calendar with email and mobile devices, and includes optional use of an online collaboration tool, SharePoint.
Request Exchange Account
UVa Central Mail Service (CMS)
The Central Mail Service, accessible through CMS WebMail or an email program, provides basic email without a calendar.
Request Central Mail Account

While ITC recommends choosing between Exchange and the Central Mail Service, you may opt to have accounts on both. But then you will have to read email in 2 places.

Exchange accounts are not offered to alumni, and are available to students only in special situations. CMS accounts are not available for students or alumni.

(Step 2 of 2) Manage Your UVa Email Address(es)

Once you've received confirmation your new email account has been created, use the UVa Email Address Management System to check that your mail is being delivered where you want it to be. You can also use the System to create and manage your email aliases, and change where you read your University email.
