ITC Applications and Data Services

Data Services

[Nov 23, 2009 10:11] Windows Live student email is currently unavailable. ITC is working with Microsoft to develop a solution.

The products and services provided by Data Services enable the University of Virginia to manage its institutional data.

To preserve the value of UVa’s critical institutional data, and to ensure accessibility to this resource, the University adopted the Administrative Data Access Policy in 1994. The cornerstone of the policy was the philosophy that information must be “available to all employees who have a legitimate need.”

To accommodate this philosophy and to leverage the University’s investment in its information resources, Data Services has been charged with the responsibility to develop and implement effective and cost-efficient data administration and data security practices.
