Applications and Data Services supports the instruction, research, and administrative functions of the University by providing applications, performance testing services, data management, and easily accessible databases of institutional data to the user community.

Overview of Services

  • Perform project management and planning, detailed estimating, process/data analysis and design, programming, testing, application and documentation, and implementation tasks required to satisfy approved requests for application development and maintenance initiatives, including those involving vendor-supplied application packages.
  • Provide system support for production applications.
  • Develop applications for ITC with Executive Directors Community (EDC) approval
  • Provide performance testing services
  • Provide data management services
  • Provide security administration related to authentication and authorization

Data Security

Data Access for Various Machines and Systems
  • Establishment of accounts for accessing data on several systems and machines
  • Maintainance of accounts
  • Security audits

Data Services

Data Modeling, Database Design, Data Management
  • Products and services that enable origanizations to manage and protect information assets. Services include modeling of data requirements, database design, and planning for data management and quality control.
  • Services available to University schools, departments and university–related foundations.

Departmental Application Development (DAD)

Project Management, Consulting & Application Development.
  • Consulation, design, and development of department–specific academic, research, and administrative applications, database–driven with dynamic desktop and Web interfaces.
  • Support and development of databases for research and patient care.
  • Services available to University schools, departments, grant–founded initiative, and university-related foundations.

Enabling Technologies

Supports ITC with the development of applications used in conjunction with ITC services.

Performance Testing Center (PTC)

Consult and develop performance testing plans for critical applications, script writing and test execution utilizing HP Mercury Load Runner Software.
  • Project management and technical expertise for creation and execution of performance testing.
  • Services available to University schools, departments, and University-related foundations.

Scan and Score

Bubble Sheet scanning, Grade sheet scanning, OMR
  • Predefined reports generated from the scanning of “Bubble”–style answer sheets
  • Services available to University schools and departments.

Software Services Group (SSG)

Supports University-wide application design and development.
