Connecting to the MEDUSER Server

[Nov 23, 2009 14:09] Web access to Microsoft Live@edu accounts now works.

ITC-ACHS allows users of our labs to create MedUser accounts and use them to store data temporarily for use in the lab, or to transfer saved data to home computers. Remember that this space is for temporary storage of research data only. Files are deleted 21 days from their creation date. Files containing patient data may not be saved on this server!

The MEDUSER Directory Structure

The directory structure on the MEDUSER server is organized as shown:

  • Meduser
    • Data
      • Your folder (ex. "mst3k")

Connecting from a Macintosh Using OS X

  1. "Go" Menu ..."Connect to Server"
  2. Enter the following path:
    • afp://128.143.19.25
  3. Click "Connect"
  4. Enter your user name and password
  5. Select your folder (ex. "mst3k")

Connecting from an Windows 2000 or XP machine

  1. Right click on either the Network Neighborhood, My Network Places or My Computer icon on the desktop and choose Map a network drive.
  2. Enter the following path in the Folder box: \\128.143.19.25\"your meduser id"
  3. Click on the Connect using a different user name link below the path box. Enter your Meduser ID and password in the resulting box. Click OK and then Finish
  4. If you are unable to connect, please contact ITC-ACHS.
